I was asked by the bike builder Rourke if I'd like to design the frame graphics for a bike they were building for Team GB Track Cyclist Matt Crampton. Being a fan of all aspects of cycling, I jumped at that chance.
This brief was to design a Rouke logo type that would be used on this build and that would be flexible enough to use in different designs on future builds. The final logo type design could be used in a number of ways.
The design had to be fitting for Matt's bike but also easily replicated in other colours, for other clients. Many designs in many colourways were presented before settling for a final design.
Once the bike design was signed off, and the frame was ready to be sprayed, I made a trip down to Rourke and spent the day photographing the spraying process. Here are a few of the shots taken.
